What Have I Been Up To - Art

I wrote about visiting S, my watercolour guru and how he was pleased with what I have managed to do with my watercolours. He saw my Actias Luna series, green moths and wild roses, representing Romance Sonambulo by Federico Garcia Lorca. In retrospect, this visit was sort of an ending to green moths. I know I wrote about it at least twice already, but I'll move to another moth, the blue one. This time I mean it. I have washed a ceramic plate I use instead of a palette (I love to improvise) and taped a new piece of paper to a board. I loosely sketched the moth and applied a layer of golden ochre and raw sienna to the background part. I intentionally let the paint drip down the paper and there are some places I didn’t even paint the background. It’s where I want my moth to disappear, to fuse with the paper. We’ll see what happens next.

Zephyr, work in progress / Zefir, delo v nastajanju

After I painted the series for my master’s degree, I didn’t much paint in acrylics. I concentrated on watercolours instead, but I found it a totally different experience. I almost never do calligraphy in watercolours anymore, while calligraphy on canvas, painted with a flat brush and acrylic paint still works for me. A couple of years ago I painted two paintings dealing with winds I later exhibited in a group exhibition. While waiting for a bus one morning I thought of more winds on canvas. There would be ten paintings, including the two I already have. The first two are blue Tramontana and red Diablo, the one I’m working on presently I decided to call Zephyr and paint it mostly green. I don’t know but the word zephyr sounds green to me. I’ll keep working.

Enkrat prejšnji teden sem pisala o tem kako sva z M-jem obiskala S-ja, mojega akvarelnega guruja in kako je bil zadovoljen z mojim napredkom. Približno sem skicirala metulja in nanesla rumeni oker in surovo sieno tja, kjer hočem imeti ozadje.

Erebus, work in progress / Erebus, delo v nastajanju

Me prav zanima kaj bo nastalo.
